Intuitively many of us know that connecting with people via email, text or Facebook is synonymous with looking at a glossy picture of a delicious meal — it’s just not the same as the real thing. And, no matter how much you try, the hunger does not go away.
This article — A call to connect — shares a thought provoking point, namely, “that our market-driven society has led to an increase in human solitude. We have forgotten the value of relationships.”
The article also states that, “Going through the motions of communicating isn’t the same thing as relating. Spending more time on the mobile phone and the Internet doesn’t mean we are in touch with other people and how they feel.”
If you could, who would you spend more time face-to-face with in life?
Who should you go and meet face-to-face with at work instead of emailing or calling?
Commit to doing so…
